NPLQ

The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is the industry-standard qualification for anyone looking to work as a lifeguard in the UK. Recognised by employers across the country, the NPLQ provides comprehensive training in pool rescue, CPR, first aid, and essential lifeguarding skills.

This qualification is perfect for those who are confident swimmers, enjoy working as part of a team, and are keen to develop valuable life-saving skills that can lead to a rewarding and flexible career in the leisure industry.

What the course covers:

Pool safety and supervision
Emergency rescue techniques
First aid and CPR (including AED training)
Understanding the role and responsibilities of a lifeguard
Incident management and effective communication

Entry Requirements:

You must be 16 years or older on the date of assessment
Be able to swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
Be able to swim 100 metres continuously on front and back
Tread water for 30 seconds
Surface dive to the deepest part of the pool
Climb out of the pool unaided

Please Note - Pre-Requisite on Swimming Ability will be undertaken prior to the course starting

Duration:
Delivered over 5-6 days (minimum of 36 contact hours required), followed by a practical and theory-based assessment.
