Being active is not only great for your physical health and fitness. Evidence also shows it can also improve your mental wellbeing by:

  • raising your self-esteem
  • helping you to set achievable goals or challenges
  • changing your mood and giving you more energy

Chorley Council are committed to supporting residents to become active. We have a dedicated programme that supports residents to adopt a healthy lifestyle, making small changes to their current habits to improve their wellbeing.

In addition we have supported local groups and organisations to develop low level activity for those looking to start exercising for the first time or get back in to exercise after a period of absence.

If you wish to start this journey on your own, the NHS have links to Couch 2 5K, or you can join one of our well-equipped Leisure Centres. Click the links below to explore more.
